Gov. Sununu signs executive order to remove Russian liquor from New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets – WCVB Boston

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu signed an executive order Saturday directing the state’s Liquor & & Red wine Outlet locations to remove Russian-made and Russian-branded spirits.In a tweet, Sununu stated he signed an order that instructs the outlets to begin removing Russian liquor from the shops until further notification.”New Hampshire stands with the people of Ukraine in their fight for flexibility,” the governor tweeted, in part.There are 67 New Hampshire Alcohol & & Red wine Outlet areas in the state and are a popular stop for Massachusetts visitors seeking to prevent paying taxes on alcohol.New Hampshire is one of 17 so-called alcohol control states in the country.In addition, some bars and liquor stores in New England are pulling Russian liquor from their racks as a method to punish Russia for attacking Ukraine.Magic Mountain, a ski resort in Londonderry, Vermont, posted a video on Twitter revealing a worker putting Stolichnaya, an old Soviet brand name of vodka, down the drain and saying: “Sorry, we don’t serve Russian items here.”Ukrainians are bracing for another night of attacks as Russian soldiers close in on the capital of Kyiv and skirmishes emerge on the city’s outskirts.Small groups of Russian soldiers were reported Saturday in the capital, where the quiet was sporadically pierced by the noise of gunfire. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy firmly insisted the nation’s battle would go on as he continued to press for help.Much remained by the fog of war, but ratings were reported eliminated and the United Nations stated some 120,000 Ukrainians were driven from their houses to neighboring countries.
