If you thought your red wine was safe from rising rates, guess once again. Inflation and its associated adverse effects are spilling into the glass, and you may see its impacts at your favorite dining establishments and bars.
“Inflation really hit us hard this year. We held back as long as we could, however about four months or two ago, I recognized that, if I wished to keep pouring the caliber of white wines that we were understood for putting, I simply had to charge another dollar or two,” states Frank Kinyon, beverage and service director at Philadelphia’s a.kitchen + a.bar. “There simply wasn’t any way around it.”
A regional wine-by-the-glass favorite because its 2014 opening, a.kitchen + a.bar was a 2022 semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding White wine Program award.
