You made it! Welcome 2023 with the Calendar of Red Wine Days. A fresh year. A brand-new year to learn about all the fabulous wines, local and worldwide. Each of these white wines is available in the Rogue Valley, a lot of them grown and made by local vintners.

JANUARY

Jan. 10– Champagne and French Fries Day due to the fact that why not?

FEBRUARY

Feb. 1– International Furmint Day. The most extensively grown grape of the Tokaj wine area in Hungary. Inspect Kimball’s Artisan Red wines in Jacksonville for these tasty white wines. The essence of Hungary with indigenous grapes. (See Dec. 10)

Feb. 14– Wine and Enthusiasts’ Day

Feb. 16– International Syrah Day. Syrah by any other name is a Shiraz. While the grape stays the very same, the design and taste do not. Syrah is Northern Hemisphere. (See July 28)

Feb. 18– International Drink White Wine Day

Feb. 21– Fat Tuesday/ Mardi Gras. Anything goes!

Feb. 25– Open That Bottle Night

MARCH

March 3– Mulled White Wine Day

March 13– International Riesling Day

March 25– Ladies in White Wine Day

APRIL

April 14– Tannat Day. Head to Troon Vineyard in the Applegate for this red wine. They even have one you can Pét (tanNat).

April 17– World Malbec Day

April 23– International Cava Day

April 28– International Viognier Day

MAY

May is Oregon Wine Month. Did someone state wine journey ?!

May 5– International Sauvignon Blanc Day

May 9– World Moscato Day

May 16– Mimosa Day

May 17– Pinot Grigio Day

May 24– Anniversary of the Judgment of Paris Day when California red wines stomped the French red wines.

May 25– International Chardonnay Day

May 25– National White Wine Day (USA)

JUNE

June 5– National Bubbly Day

June 10– World Verdejo Day. Taste at Belle Fiore Winery, Dana Campbell Vineyards and Red Lily Vineyards.

June 11-16– Prosecco Week

June 10– National Rosé Day

June 16– International Consume Chenin Blanc Day

June 21– World Lambrusco Day. For an enjoyable and perky regional Lambrusco-esque red wine attempt Kismet Sparkling Zinfandel from Noise & & Vision at Driver Red Wine Collective.

June 23– International Rosé Day. A day of looking through rose-colored glasses.

JULY

July 1-7– Champagne Week

July 4– U.S. Sparkling Day

July 12– International Cava Day

July 14– Bastille Day

July 25– National Wine & & Cheese Day

July 27– Shiraz Day (Southern Hemisphere). A dark-skinned grape grown internationally. A great day to compare how different the white wine tastes from various parts of the world.

AUGUST

Aug. 1– International Albariño Day. Some Iberian vines depend on 300 years old!

Aug. 1-5– Spanish Albariño/ Portuguese Alvarinho Week

Aug. 4– National White Wine Day

Aug. 5– U.S. Mead Day. Steamworks Meadery is your local go-to for great mead.

Aug. 13– Commemorate Prosecco Day. Take pleasure in some Italian spirit!

Aug. 18– International Pinot Noir Day

Aug. 28– National Red Wine Day

Aug. 30– International Cabernet Sauvignon Day

SEPTEMBER

Sept. 1– National Chianti Day

Sept. 9– International Box White Wine Day

Sept. 10– Port Red Wine Day. DANCIN’s Luna Notte Oregon Port Style Barbera is a local treasure.

Sept. 16– International Grenache Day

OCTOBER

Oct. 6– National Orange Wine Day

Oct. 8– International Pinotage Day. Don & & Traute Moore brought this signature South African grape to the Rogue Valley. Taste it at South Stage Cellars in Jacksonville.

Oct. 27– International Champagne Day (France)

NOVEMBER

Nov. 7– International Red Wine Day

TBC November– International Sherry Week

Nov. 9– International Tempranillo Day

Nov. 15– Zinfandel Day

Nov. 16– Beaujolais Nouveau Day

Nov. 24– International Carménère Day
