A new study launched in September by Wine America, a winery trade organization, approximates white wine’s financial impact this year will have to do with$276 billion dollars. That includes direct effect from production and sale of white wine, indirect impact of the market’s suppliers (bottles, labels, equipment, and so on) and the “induced impact” of all those wages being invested throughout the economy.
The study, by John Dunham & Associates, is an imperfect snapshot of American wine in 2022, since there isn’t reliable data to deal with.
