So, because of this presumption that all witch’s are evil, Katolena was always an outlier in society. When she would choose a walk, individuals would cross to the other side of the street to prevent her. Another strike versus the witch was that she was a Deadhead. She liked the Grateful Dead rock band, and was typically heard singing along with the band, and carrying out some doubtful dance moves while she was grooving out to the band’s tunes. Such music was a bad impact on the young folks, said naturally, the moms and dads and elders of the neighborhood.
A couple of years ago a young couple moved to The Land of Possibilities, purchased some acreage and planted grape stock with which to make red wine. It was their dream to grow, harvest, make and treat the community to some delicious wines– a dream that was coming to satisfaction this year since the very first harvest of grapes was holding on the vines waiting to be selected.
The young vintners enlisted a number of neighbors to help pick the grapes, and after that they would teach their new pickers how to correctly harvest and to assist make the red wines. Everyone was thrilled to start the harvest– including Katolena although she wasn’t asked to help with the procedure. She saw the vineyards develop, and without the young couples knowing it, she had actually monitored the vines during the night. Those nighttime varmints or bugs weren’t going to hurt these young folks!
The first day of collecting dawned bright and lovely. The people assembled at the vineyard and stood patiently waiting for the young vintners to appear. They did not get here, and quickly folks were getting concerned. Among the group went to the couple’s home, knocked on the door and discovered the young vintners were really sick. They would not have the ability to guide the choosing crew, and who would know how to make the wine? Things were looking bleak and bad in The Land of Possibilities till the witch gradually walked into the vineyard listening to the Grateful Dead through her ear buds.
Individuals were shocked and terrified. They began to move away until Katolena smiled upon them, and in a moderate voice notified the group she might assist them. What? A witch assist us? In the beginning, the group avoided her, but quickly, one by one, they were won over by her appealing charm. Not only that, but that music she now used a speaker was rather enticing. With scheduled smiles and some swinging to the music’s beats, they listened as the witch taught them how to choose the grapes and bring them to the barn for fermenting and processing.
The day progressed with people not only getting to know the vineyard, but likewise Katolena. As the last lot of grapes was chosen, people celebrated by dancing in the vineyard to the witches music. Then, with Katolena teaching them, the enjoyment grew as they all went into the barn to make red wine,
The young couple seen from their bedroom’s window as the grapes were harvested and the wine making process begin. Their hearts grew in size that day.
The very first batch of grapes were made into a Gnarly Head Cabernet Sauvignon with the name of Grateful Dead. It featured dark cherries, cloves and a touch of vanilla. Individuals started to see the witch in the red wine– a bit dark however a soft acceptable touch to her, too.
Next on Katolena’s white wine list was a red blend– like Apothic Dark. The recently taught vintners were in awe of the witch. She understood a lot and was so fascinating. Again, the mix showed the witch with its heavy raspberry tastes that were laced with notes of sweet chocolate and coffee. How could one not enjoy this witch … I mean this wine?
Then, the witch pulled a startling surprise on them. She waved her wand over a batch and a gorgeous light red wine started to appear. Individuals took pleasure in tasting the rosé and compared it to an
Apothic Rosé with its crisp revitalizing tastes, but, there was a dark side to the red wine that people could not describe. The witch smiled and mentioned that the wine was like getting to know someone. Don’t hesitate of them– talk with them– walk with them and dance with them.
With that bit of witchy knowledge, the group raised their glasses in salute to a clean slate in The Land of Possibilities, and the young couple danced in their bedroom to the sounds of the Grateful Dead.
As constantly, eat and drink in small amounts however laugh with careless abandon!
