Falling in love, with wine
Emily joined the Army in 2000, arriving at Fort Campbell in 2002 and after that deploying to Iraq in 2003. She fulfilled Jake at Fort Campbell in 2004, they were married in 2005, and she left the military in 2006. She said her hubby served in the Army for 24 years until his retirement in 2016.
After going back to California, the family spent time in the wine producing region of California, ending up being more familiar with great wines, always understanding that one day they would be returning to Clarksville.
Emily Trageser said she and Jake talked for a couple of years about how cool it would be to open a wine bar, so in 2018 they decided to make a go of it. They started setting out the prepare for their brand-new company, with the actual work on the building on Franklin Street beginning in 2019.
“What we want to provide is a location for individuals to find out and discover, and beverage red wine that makes them happy, but learn more about brand-new white wines and learn about pairing and find out about some lesser-known white wines from regions of the world,” Trageser said.
In addition to pairings of cheese, seafood and other delicacies, Trageser added that they have red wines from all over the world, including South Africa, Australia and South America.
“If you desire something that’s familiar, we’ve got plenty of those red wines. We’ve also got other things that you can attempt if you’re feeling adventurous and want to discover something new. Our food menu supplies best pairing options for practically anything on our wine list,” Trageser said.
Beginning a service
When it pertains to advice for other service members thinking of starting a service as they transition out of the military, Trageser said it helps if you’re actually stubborn, due to the fact that you’re going to have some problems and disappointments.
Trageser discussed the time, effort and paperwork involved. “If you truly, really want this to happen, it’s a lot, so make sure if you do not know something, get someone who does, that’s truly useful,” Trageser said.
